About Timothy C. Allers

Tim Allers is running for the open 120th Assembly District seat, which covers Oswego County and parts of Jefferson and Cayuga counties. His campaign describes him as a father and small-business owner who was raised in Central New York and still calls Oswego County home. For close to 20 years his work took him to roughly ten other states, and his campaign says he kept returning because his family and children are in the region. He has not held elected office, according to his campaign materials. His campaign says he is running to challenge what it calls an entrenched local political establishment and to make government more answerable to residents. The campaign website invites voters to name their top concerns from a list that includes affordability, child care, health care, property taxes, and roads and bridges, rather than laying out a detailed platform.

About Jim Weatherup

Jim Weatherup is running for the open 120th Assembly District seat. A lifelong resident of the Central Square area, he has served in the Oswego County Legislature since 2014, representing District 9, which includes the village of Central Square and parts of Hastings and Palermo. Fellow legislators first chose him as chairman in 2019. Earlier he was majority leader in 2018 and chaired the Finance and Personnel Committee. Before joining the county legislature he served on the Hastings town board and as town supervisor. When he launched his campaign in February 2026, he said it would center on affordability, support for local governments and protecting agriculture, and on making sure rural upstate communities are "heard in Albany."
