ACR Health’s Watertown branch is scheduled to hold its first Strike Out Stigma-North Country bowling fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 17, at Pla-Mor Lanes, 577 State St. The event is intended to raise funds and awareness while connecting people with ACR Health services.
Registration is $25 per person or $100 for a four-person team. ACR’s event page lists registration through a Qgiv form, with a deadline of 4 p.m. Oct. 16. The page lists the event from 3 to 6 p.m., while earlier event listings gave the time as 7 to 10 p.m. The start time should be confirmed with ACR Health before publication.
The event is part of ACR Health’s move away from its longstanding AIDS Walk/Run. Similar Strike Out Stigma bowling events were held in Rome and Liverpool earlier in October, according to published event information.
Free on-site HIV testing is planned through ACR Health’s mobile testing van. The Watertown event also is scheduled to offer health insurance enrollment and navigation assistance as rules and guidelines change this season.
ACR Health’s local services include its Watertown Office and Q Center at 210 Court St., Suite 20, and its syringe exchange at 135 Franklin St. Jefferson County Public Health’s STI clinic at 175 Arsenal St. in Watertown also provides HIV testing.
Registration is available through the Qgiv form linked from ACR Health’s Strike Out Stigma-North Country event page. Questions may be directed to ACR Health at (315) 475-2430.
