By the ClickNNY North Country Desk
Lewis County Public Health reported 11 confirmed measles cases as of Friday, including 10 additional cases announced after the county’s first confirmed case on Sept. 26. All of the cases involve unvaccinated people, officials said. No further patient details were released to protect privacy.
Residents in their infectious period are being isolated, and officials said everyone known to have been exposed was directly contacted. The health department said people who may have been exposed should monitor for symptoms and call a health care provider before arriving in person. Lewis County Public Health can be reached at 315-376-5453 with questions about measles or vaccination.
