SUNY Chancellor John B. King Jr. visited Jefferson Community College on Sept. 4 during a statewide tour promoting SUNY Reconnect. The visit included time with students and faculty and a tour of the college’s mechatronics laboratories.
SUNY Reconnect began with the fall 2025 semester and offers eligible adult learners free associate degrees in high-demand fields. The 2026-27 state budget expanded the program to include associate programs at bachelor’s-granting institutions, more high-demand programs and provisions intended to help adult learners with degrees in other fields return to college for nursing programs.
