The Watertown Wolves have upgraded their locker room at the Northern Credit Union Community Arena ahead of a two-game home-opening series against Danbury on Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17, 2026.
The renovation includes new paint, lounge chairs, a television, a PlayStation and a breakfast bar. Team owner Daniel Drake said the work was funded mostly through donations and community sponsors. Watertown City Hall said no taxpayer funding went toward the renovations.
The Wolves began as the 1000 Islands Privateers, moved to Watertown in 2012 and took the Wolves name in 2014. The team has won playoff championships in 2015, 2018 and 2022. It did not qualify for the playoffs in 2025-26, the first time in franchise history.
Drake agreed to buy the team in spring 2026 after an April announcement that new ownership was needed. The Wolves compete in the Great Lakes Division.
The home opener is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Friday at the arena, located at 600 William T Field Dr. on the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds. The second game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are available through Clubhouse Cards, which offers group rates for groups of 10 or more.
The arena also hosts Watertown Minor Hockey, figure skating, adult leagues and public skating. More information about the facility is available through the City of Watertown's arena page.
