The Amazon distribution center in Pamelia has not begun operations, although construction of the 77,400-square-foot facility is substantially complete.
The facility was expected to open previously, and employees had been training there. The Jefferson County codes office issued a certificate of occupancy on June 11. The building is located in Bradley Street Commerce Park between Interstate 81 and the UPS facility, and the developer has said it is expected to open before the holiday season.
