A coercion charge against St. Lawrence County animal control officer Michael Gilbo is expected to be dismissed if he commits no crimes during a six-month period, according to the reported court outcome in Hopkinton Town Court.
The charge followed a complaint by Enus Yoder, who was charged with animal cruelty in connection with Rosie, a severely injured dog brought to the Potsdam Humane Society. Rosie had a leg amputated and will not be returned to Yoder. The dog is now available for adoption.
Yoder is scheduled to appear in Hopkinton Town Court on Dec. 16 on the animal cruelty charge. Gilbo is expected to continue serving as an animal control officer for several towns in St. Lawrence County.
