Former Watertown Mayor Joseph M. Butler Sr. has died at age 89, according to a statement from Mayor Sarah V. C. Pierce.

Former Watertown Mayor Joseph M. Butler Sr. has died at age 89, Mayor Sarah V. C. Pierce said in a Facebook post Saturday.
Butler served one term as mayor, from 2000 through 2003. Pierce thanked him for his service as a civic leader and educator.
