The Village of Massena is scheduled to test and flush fire hydrants in all water districts from Oct. 5 through Oct. 23. The work is set to begin on the village’s north side, move through the various water districts and finish in the town of Massena.
The work may temporarily discolor tap water. Water remains safe to drink, and running cold water for several minutes may help clear the discoloration. Residents are advised to check their water before doing laundry because discolored water may stain clothing. Water is expected to clear by the day after hydrants in each neighborhood are flushed.
