The Potsdam Public Museum plans to host the Potsdam Sandstone Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 19 at Ives Park. The free event is open to all ages and will focus on the role of local sandstone in Potsdam’s history and architecture.
Activities are expected to include architectural walking tours, art activities, face painting, informational displays, a musical story time and live music. The museum said the stone has been used in local homes, churches, schools and public buildings for about two centuries.
