The St. Lawrence County STOP-DWI Program is participating in a Labor Day weekend campaign intended to prevent impaired driving. The statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” initiative runs through Sept. 7, with state and local law enforcement agencies increasing patrols and enforcement targeting impaired, speeding, reckless and other dangerous driving.
The program is reminding motorists to plan transportation before consuming alcohol or using impairing substances, including some prescription medications. Suggested options include choosing a sober driver, arranging a ride, staying overnight or using another safe transportation method.
