Watertown attempted-murder and witness-tampering case due in Jefferson County Court
A Watertown man indicted on attempted murder, solicitation, coercion, perjury and witness-tampering counts is scheduled for a pretrial hearing Oct. 14.
By the ClickNNY North Country Desk
Rajsheem Richardson, 39, of Watertown, is scheduled to appear in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday, Oct. 14, for a pretrial proceeding before Judge David A. Renzi, according to the state court system's public calendar.
The indictment's top count is attempted second-degree murder, a class B felony. Richardson also faces counts of attempted first-degree assault, second-degree criminal solicitation, first-degree coercion and first-degree perjury, all felonies, plus a misdemeanor count of fourth-degree tampering with a witness, court records show. He has pleaded not guilty to all of them.
The case started in Watertown City Court with an arraignment in August and moved to County Court after the indictment. Court records do not describe the facts behind the charges.
A scheduled court date may be adjourned, and a pretrial proceeding does not mean a trial date has been set.
Charges are allegations. Everyone is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
